Cooperative is a legal entity created as a result of the association of individuals and/or legal entities on the basis of membership for joint economic and other activities with the aim of improving their economic condition.
The basis of cooperatives is the combination of personal and collective interests of their members, the division of risks, costs and revenues between them, the development of their self-organization, self-management and self-control.
Members of the cooperative can be: citizens of Ukraine who have reached the age of 16; foreigners and stateless persons who have reached the age of 16; legal entities of Ukraine; legal entities of foreign countries that have made an entry fee and a share in the amounts determined by the charter of the cooperative, comply with the requirements of the charter and enjoy the right to vote.
A cooperative can be either a non-profit public organization or an enterprise owned and managed by the people who use its services (consumer cooperative) and/or the people who work there (production cooperative).

Кооператив – юридична особа, що створюється внаслідок об’єднання фізичних та/або юридичних осіб на основі членства для спільної господарської та іншої діяльності з метою поліпшення свого економічного стану.
Основою кооперативів є поєднання особистих та колективних інтересів їх членів, поділу між ними ризиків, витрат і доходів, розвитку їх самоорганізації, самоуправління та самоконтролю.
Членами кооперативу можуть бути: громадяни України, які досягли 16 років; іноземці та особи без громадянства, які досягли 16 років; юридичні особи України; юридичні особи іноземних держав, які внесли вступний внесок та пай у розмірах, визначених статутом кооперативу, додержуються вимог статуту і користуються правом ухвального голосу.
Кооператив може бути як некомерційною громадською організацією, так і підприємством, що належить і управляються людьми, які користуються його послугами (споживчий кооператив) та/або людьми, які там працюють (виробничий кооператив).
